NLP – Neuro-linguistic programming What is it? Neuro-Linguistic programming is a process, based on a structured method with a set of tools that can help us to change they way we perform by teaching us how to model the excellence we want in the things we do. NLP was initially brought to life by two individuals, one with a background in how the brain uses language and the other in computer programming. They recognised that the brain operates in a similar way to a computer by having a language that runs a program. In addition they found that if you changed the fundamental program a different set of results would be achieved for the same set of sensory inputs. Therefore, if an individual could change their programming they could achieve different results. For most of us the programs we run have been developed from childhood through our 5 senses and when we try to change them they stubbornly refuse. What NLP offers is a set of tools and procedures to achieve in some cases rapid change from old behaviours to completely new ones.
