Iridology

What is Iridology?

Iridology has been practised by most of the ancient civilisations including the Egyptians, Brahmins, Tibetan monks; even Hippocrates had a much simpler version of iris diagnosis linking the iris to other parts of the body. Iridology was practised for some time in Europe, and Phillippus Meyens mentioned iris markings in his publication ‘Chiromatic Medica of Dresden’ in 1670. Modern Iridology was rediscovered in 1880 by a Hungarian physician, Ignatz von Peczely. Since then many eminent physicians and naturopaths have worked to bring Iridology to the attention of a wider public including: Joseph Deck, Henry Lindlahr, Dr. J. Kritzer, Pastor Felke, Dr. John Christopher, and Dr. Bernard Jensen who was leader in the field of Iridology for over 50 years.

Iridology uses the appearance of the eye, in particular the iris, to assess emotional and physical health and to discover the cause of illness or to confirm good health. Iridology assesses:

1 - the body’s constitutional strengths and weaknesses, reveals levels of inflammation and toxaemia,
2 - reduced organ function
3 - impaired elimination
4 - the causes of symptoms and disease on a physical and emotional level
5 - genetic inheritance
6 - nutritional balance.
